Nature: Vehicle Accident

On Wednesday, April 10^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway in the vicinity of Giant Foods and M&T Bank.  It was reported to be a two-vehicle collision.

Emergency response apparatus from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility, Engine #80-3 from the Long Neck facility, Chief 80-15 as well as the Delaware State Fire Police. 

Emergency response crew assignments included traffic control, fluid and debris recovery as well as vehicle stabilization. 

It appears that a Mazda 6 sedan and Ford Ranger pick up collided on John J. Williams Highway while approaching the intersection and traffic control signal at Long Neck Road.   The pick up struck the rear of the sedan for an unknown reason.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The local emergency medical services provider transported one person to nearby medical facilities for additional observations.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
