Sunday June, 26 2011 @ 15:49:33 Nature: Appliance Fire Address: 33900 New Moon St Millsboro, DE 19966 On Sunday afternoon, June 26th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a residential appliance fire on New Moon Street in the Leisure Point development off of Long Neck Road. Emergency response units from the Long Neck Station (Engine #80-3) and Oak Orchard Station (Engine #80-1; Rescue 80; and Tanker 80) responded to the incident. Engine #80-3 and Engine #80-1 were utilized at the incident location and all other responding apparatus were cancelled while enroute. Both engine crews were required to utilize their thermal imaging cameras (TIC) to evaluate the interior of the structure to ascertain any areas of concern. It was determined to be a malfunctioning oven and the homeowners were so notified. Crews assisted with natural ventilation of the residential structure.
