Sunday June, 26 2011 @ 12:19:12 Nature: Vehicle Accident BLS Address: 28178 John J Williams Hwy Millsboro, DE 19966 On Sunday Afternoon, June 26th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle collision on John J. Williams Highway in the vicinity of Bulls Eye Lane west of Warwick Road. It was reported to have four vehicles involved and the possibility of one patient. Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 (Oak Orchard Station); Engine 80-5 and Engine #80-3 (both units from Long Neck Station). Rescue 80 identified that multiple vehicles in the roadway and requested the closure of John J. Williams Highway between Warwick Road and William Street Road for the duration of the incident. The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control. Specific apparatus assignments included assist with patient stabilization, initiate vehicle stabilization, traffic control, scene preservation, and roadway clearance measures. Engine #80-3 was cancelled while enroute to the incident. It is believed that a silver Pontiac Grand Am was struck from behind by a white Nissan 4-door truck and then the Pontiac sideswiped a dark gray sedan traveling eastbound on John J. Williams. There was one vehicle occupant transferred to nearby medical facilities via the local emergency medical service provider. The Delaware State Police are investigating.
