Saturday May, 14 2011 Nature: Stand-by Assignment – Mill Creek – Stations #2 and #21 Address: Marshallton, Delaware On Saturday, May 14th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company and the Brandywine Hundred Fire Company provided stand-by coverage for the fire district of Mill Creek in Marshallton, Delaware. Engine #80-3 provided a seven (7) person stand-by crew that departed the Long Neck Station at 12 n. on Saturday which included: Chief Steven C. Deery, Jr.; First Asst. Chief Hayden F. Klingler; Fire Captain Brian Morley; Firefighters Nicholas Karpin; Thomas Murray and Jeff Miller; as well as Apparatus Operator Patrick Miller. Rescue 11-6 provided a six (6) person stand-by crew. Engine #80-3 departed Mill Creek at approximately 11:30 to return to the Long Neck facility. There were no incidents in the Mill Creek local that required the attention of Engine #80-3 or Rescue 11 during the assigned times of our stand-by. Indian River members were greeted with hospitality and fellowship from Mill Creek and were visited by an Engine crew from Minquas Fire Company in Newport, Delaware that included fellow firefighters and friends from New Castle County.
