Story
Friday February, 25 2011 @ 16:38:35 Nature: Service Call Address: 26246 Oak Forest Lane, Millsboro, DE 19966 The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for two back-to-back incidents directly associated with the extremely high winds conditions blowing through our fire district. The second incident was a service call type incident with an overall incident synopsis of tree falling into a manufactured structure. Engine #80-3 and Rescue 80 were assigned to respond to this incident while Engine #80-1 was assigned to respond to wires down incident on John J. Williams Highway. Engine #80-3 arrived on scene and provided an incident summary that required our Rescue unit to respond to assist with a salvage operations request to mitigate future rain and water damage. The residential structure did incur significant structural damage as a result of the tree falling. Emergency response personnel assisted with relocation of installation of plastic sheeting to safe guard personal belongs, furniture, and other household items.
