Friday October, 29 2010 Nature: Stand-by Coverage Assignments Wilmington Manor Fire Company and Aston-Beechwood Fire Company provided stand-by coverage for Indian River Volunteer Fire Company during the Friday, October 29, 2010 funeral viewing services for James T. β€œTee” Norwood. On Friday afternoon at approximately 5 p.m., the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company enacted cover up assignments in order to permit for the funeral viewing services and other preparation items with the respect to the demise of Tee Norwood. Two companies provided the initial cover up assignments for the period of 5 p.m. on October 29, 2010 through 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 30, 2010. These companies were: (1) Wilmington Manor Fire Company – Station #32 from New Castle, Delaware; and (2) Aston-Beechwood Fire Company – Station #72 from Aston Township in Pennsylvania. These crews did respond to one incident within the fire district of Indian River as of midnight on 10/29/2010. This incident was an appliance fire in Pot Nets Bayside at 34642 Gunnel Road, Millsboro, DE 19966. Upon arrival of emergency apparatus, the residential homeowner and Pot Nets Security utilized two fire extinguishers to bring the incident under control. The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company wishes to acknowledge the assistance and cooperation of our surrounding as well as the aforementioned companies during these trying times.
