Saturday October, 23 2010 @ 03:46:49 Nature: Assist Station #86 – RIT Team Assignment Address: 2219 Camp Arrowhead Rd Lewes, DE 19958 Early Saturday morning, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted to assist Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company (Station #86) with a Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) assignment. At approximately 3:45 a.m., the Rehoboth Beach Emergency Operations Center alerted Station #86, for a working residential fire on Camp Arrowhead Road. The Sussex County Emergency Operations Center alerted the Lewes Fire Department (Station #82), the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company (Station #80), Sussex County Paramedics, and the Delaware State Fire Marshal Office. Rehoboth Beach’s Incident Command Officer arrived and identified a heavy smoke and light fire condition from the rear of the residential structure. The incident’s first arriving apparatus was assigned to enter the driveway and initiate an aggressive attack to suppression this incident. Other units were assigned to assist initial crew as well as provide water resources to the other apparatus. Indian River’s was assigned to initially set-up the RIT Team and the front of the residential structure. Rehoboth Beach’s Incident Command Officer requested stand-by coverage for their respective station and Millsboro Volunteer Fire Company was brought to the incident location to provide water resources and potential manpower. Milton Volunteer Fire Department was assigned stand-by coverage at Rehoboth's Station #3 The Delaware Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the incident.
