Sunday September, 26 2010 @ 11:53:18 Nature: Traffic/Transportation Acdnt BLS Address: 24280 - 24301 Banks Rd Millsboro, DE 19966 On Sunday, September 26th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a personal injury vehicle collision on Banks Road down from John J. Williams Highway. After arrival of Ryan Mock, Lieutenant the incident location was amended to the vicinity of Winding Creek Village. It appears that a maroon Mercury Sable was traveling on Banks Road from John J. Williams Highway and lost control rounding the sharp curve near the entrance to Winding Creek. The vehicle started to spin and slide off the roadway surface striking a tree with the left front of vehicle as well as the right rear. The occupant did require additional evaluation by the Sussex County Emergency Medical Services. Emergency response was limited to one engine from Indian River. Engine #80-3 was assigned to perform vehicle stabilization, disconnect the battery and assist with traffic control. The Delaware State Fire Police were requested to flow traffic via one lane for the duration of incident. The Delaware State Police are investigating the incident.
