Williams Highway in the vicinity of Burtons Pond. DELDOT was requested to respond with arrow boards and provide assistance with traffic control due to the entire roadway closure as a result of the vehicle collision. The Lewes Fire Department ambulances transported vehicle occupants to nearby medical facilities and the Aviation Unit did medivac one vehicle occupant to the medical facilities as well. It appears that the mini-van was traveling west on John J. Williams Highway (Route #24) and the Ford Explorer was traveling east and collided for an unknown reason at this time. The impact of the collision caused significant damage to the occupant compartments of the vehicles and the Ford Explorer overturned. The Delaware State Police are investigating the incident.
