Indian River’s fire district was being covered by a special assignment stand-by crew from the Millsboro Volunteer Fire Company and Engine #83-4 responded directly to the incident from the Long Neck area. After an interior evaluation of the residential structure, it was determined that the CO detector had a faulty battery which activated the device as a precautionary warning. The incident was placed under control and all units were returned to their respective special assignment task.
