Wednesday, June, 30 2010 Nature: Chief Emeritus Maurice A. (Snooty) Mosley, Sr. Maurice A. (Snooty) Mosley, Sr., Board of Director, Chief and Chief Emeritus of the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company passed away on Wednesday, June 30, 2010. Snooty served as Board of Director and Chief of the fire company for 8 years during the 1980-1987 time periods when our organization experienced significant community growth. Snooty was awarded the Chief Emeritus position in December, 1998 for his outstanding dedication, insight and forethought to enhance our organization during times of change. Snooty will be missed by many fellow firefighters from neighboring companies, ladies auxiliary members of our organization, members of the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company, as well as his family and friends. Mosley - "Snooty" Age 75, of Millsboro, DE passed away on Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at Beebe Medical Center surrounded by loving family. Mr. Mosley was born on August 15, 1934, in Millsboro, DE. He was the son of Myrtle P. Davis and Stepfather, the late Hersel Davis and father, the late Frank Wilson. In addition to his Mother, Myrtle Davis, he is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ardith (Art) P. Mosley, a daughter, Maureen Dempster and husband, Norman; 2 sons, Maurice (Reesie) Mosley and Companion, Heather, Maury Mosley and Companion, Jenny; 5 grandchildren, Dena, Cameron, Skylar, Alston, and Elijah; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A Memorial service will be 1 pm, Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, DE. Friends and family may call one hour prior. Burial will be private.
