Sunday June, 27 2010 @ 15:38:40 Nature: Automatic Fire Alarm Location: Cedar Tree Medical Center Address: 32711 Long Neck Rd Millsboro, DE 19966 On Sunday afternoon, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a commercial structure automatic fire alarm (AFA) incident on Long Neck Road at Cedar Tree Medical Center. The Sussex County Emergency Operations (EOC) provided an incident synopsis and report that the incident was an automatic fire alarm with general activation from the elevator shaft. Chief Steven Deery, Jr. was operating as Incident Command for the situation. Engine #80-3 was first arriving and assigned to gain access to the building, evaluate the concern after locating the enunciator panel, and investigate. Engine #80-5 and Ladder 80 were assigned to provide assistance to the interior crew. A quick exterior evaluation was conducted with no avail. Interior efforts to gain access to the elevator shaft was coordinated as well as checking the entire interior structure. A representative from Cedar Tree Medical arrived on scene and was provided a brief overview of the incident.
