Saturday June, 26 2010 @ 17:15:06 Nature: Appliance Fire Address: 32380 Mariners Way, Herring Creek Estates, Millsboro, DE 19966 On Saturday afternoon, June 26th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an appliance fire at 32380 Mariners Way, Herring Creek Estates just off of John J. Williams Highway. Chief Steven C. Deery, Jr. was operating as Incident Command for this situation. Chief Deery identified that we had a single story residential location with nothing showing from the exterior location. He also requested that Engine #80-1 pull into the residential driveway and have the emergency response crew evaluate the interior of the residential structure. Engine #80-3 was requested to bring their thermal imaging camera and assist with the interior evaluation. Efforts were initiated to ventilate the interior of the structure to ameliorate the odor. It was determined to be under control immediately thereafter and all apparatus was authorized to depart while the residential location was turned over to the occupants.
