Nature: Outside Fire

Location: 31486-31565 Oak Orchard Road Millsboro, DE 19966

On Monday afternoon, July 9^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an outside fire in the river Village development off of Oak Orchard Road.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Brush #80-00 from the Oak Orchard facility, Brush #80-0 and Engine #80-3 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included fire suppression and area saturation to prevent the spread of the outside incident.

It appears that this incident was the result inappropriate outside burning.

The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company wishes to remind everyone of the statewide burn ban that is in effective until after September 30^th.  The burning of leaves, building materials, and trash is illegal regardless of any burn ban.
