Story
Friday June, 18 2010 @ 11:47:44 Nature: Water Rescue Priority Location: Assist DNREC Address: 34531 Broad Water Rd Millsboro, DE 19966 On Friday, June 18th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted to assist the DNREC – Fish & Wildlife Enforcement Agents with a search of the various waterways and immediate bay off of Pot Nets Bayside. It was determined that a 69 year male subject apparently left his residence to work on his boat docked at the nearby marina. The gentlemen did not return home and his vehicle was located at the dock area with hand tools and other commodities still accessible on the public areas. This initial incident may have happened a few days earlier. Indian River’s Marine Units (80 Marine 2 and 80 Marine 3) performed various search patterns off the shores surrounding Pot Nets Bayside, walked the various lagoons within the immediate area, and alerted the Delaware State Police Dive Team to search under the docked vessels, etc.; however, these attempts were not successful. The Delaware State Police and the DNREC Officials continue to evaluate the incident.
