Nature: Vehicle Accident w/Medics

Location: Indian Mission Rd and John Millsboro, DE 19966

On Saturday, July 7^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway at Indian Mission Road.  It was reported to multiple vehicle collision with minor injuries.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard area, Engine #80-1 and Command 80 from the Long Neck area as well as the Delaware State Fire Police, local emergency medical services provider, and the Sussex County Paramedics.

Emergency response crew assignments included traffic control, assistance with patient stabilization, if needed, vehicle stabilization, fluid and debris recovery, as well as overall scene mitigation. 

It appears that Ford compact SUV and a Chevrolet compact SUV collided at the intersection causing minor damage to each vehicle but significant traffic hazards were created.  One occupant was transported to nearby medical facilities for additional observations.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
