Saturday March 20, 2010 @ 11:00:00 Nature: Internal Company Ladder Training Workshop Address: Indian Mission Road, Harbeson, DE 19951 On Saturday afternoon, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company conducted an internal company ladder training workshop for its members to become acclimated with ladder truck operations (i.e., set-up / take-down; outrigger positioning; ladder placement, advancement and movement; waterway set-up, hook-up, and take-down; water flow operations; etc.). Over the past few months, Indian River volunteers have been training with its ladder truck for active firefighter driver’s training and company certification. These exercised have included classroom ladder operations curriculum, actual hands-on training scenarios, incident evolutions, driver training exercises; depth perception and aptitude exercises with placement of the ladder and aerial devices. The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company expanded its fleet to include a ladder truck based upon the changing community structures.
