Nature: Vehicle Accident w/Medics

Location: 31376 Holly Lake Rd Millsboro, DE 19966

Early Friday morning, July 6^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Holly Lake Road.  It was reported to be a single vehicle rollover with possible occupant entrapment.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard area, Command 80, Engine #80-1 and Brush #80-0 from the Long Neck area as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.  Other incident alerts included the Delaware State Police Aviation Unit (Trooper #2) and the Sussex County Paramedic.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, assistance with patient stabilization if needed, fluid and debris recovery, as well as traffic control.

It appears that a sports utility vehicle was traveling on Holly Lake Road and lost control, ran off the roadway and overturned prohibiting the occupant(s) from leaving the vehicle.  Upon arrival of emergency apparatus, the occupant(s) were able to extricate themselves.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
