Wednesday January, 27 2010 @ 22:28:44 Nature: Traffic/Transportation Acdnt BLS Address: Long Neck Road & White House Road near the Sand Bar Millsboro, DE 19966 On Wednesday evening at approximately 10:28 p.m., the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a personal injury vehicle collision on Long Neck Road between White House Beach entrance and the Sandbar Tavern in the vicinity of the Neighborhood Store. It appears that a GMC Yukon Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) was traveling south on Long Neck Road and lost control causing the vehicle to slide sideways striking a utility pole on the driver’s side rear door. Indian River's duty officer, Eric Ruckle requested that Engine 80-5 provide vehicle stabilization, scene lighting and assist with any fluid recovery. The emergency response from Rescue 80 were assigned to assist the aforementioned assignments. The SUV sustained significant vehicle damage and the occupant required medical attention prior to being transported to neighboring medical facilities. The Delaware State Police are investigating the cause of the incident.
