Story
Thursday October, 15 2009 @ 09:36:07 Nature: Traffic/Transportation Acdnt ALS Address: 27094-27094 John J Williams Hwy., Millsboro, DE 19966 On Thursday, October 15, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a personal injury vehicle collision on John J. Williams Highway at the intersection of Rosedale Road. The initial reports to the Sussex County Emergency Operations Center was that of a two vehicle collision with possibly multiple patients and possible occupant entrapment in one the vehicles. It appears that green Toyota Prius compact car was traveling westbound on John J. Williams Highway waiting to make a left turn and apparently was struck in the rear of the vehicle by another vehicle, silver Buick, traveling westbound as well. The Toyota spun into the eastbound lanes of John J. Williams Highway. The Sussex County Emergency Medical Service personnel identified that a door pop would be required in order to access the vehicle occupants. The Delaware State Fire Police requested that John J. Williams Highway be closed between Layton David Road and Gull Point for the duration of the incident. The incident is being investigated by the Delaware State Police.
