Saturday September, 19 2009 @ 23:18:43 Nature: Traffic/Transportation Acdnt BLS Address: 33506-33545 Long Neck Rd Millsboro, DE 19966 Late Saturday evening of September 19th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a personal injury vehicle collision on Long Neck Road just north of Rehoboth Shores. It appears that a Dodge 1500 Pickup was traveling north on Long Neck and collided with a utility pole for some unknown reason. The impact of the collision caused the utility to snap in two and hang from its guide wiring over Long Neck Road. The pickup truck continued another extended distance into the nearby soybean field approximately 100 yards from the initial incident. The Delaware State Fire Police and Pot Nets Security coordinated traffic flow patterns via Pot Nets Bayside while traffic was detoured for the duration of the incident pending the utility pole replacement by the Delaware Electric Cooperative. The Delaware State Police are investigating the incident.
