Saturday August, 29 2009 @ 01:41:01 Nature: Water Rescue Priority Address: Rusty Rudder – Dewey Beach, DE At approximately 1:40 a.m., the Rehoboth Beach, Bethany Beach and Indian River volunteer fire companies were alerted for a water rescue incident near the Rusty Rudder Complex in Dewey Beach, Delaware. It was reported that an unresponsive person was floating in the water approximately 100 yards off of the docks in the Rehoboth Bay. The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was requested to launch its marine vessels at Massey’s Landing and proceed towards the Rusty Rudder in the Rehoboth Bay. The Bethany Beach Volunteer Fire Company was requested to launch its marine vessels and proceed towards the incident as well. Indian River launched two marine units at Massey’s Landing Public Boat Ramp and proceeded towards the assigned designation. While in route and just outside of Massey’s Ditch, the situation was placed under control and the marine units were returned.
