It was reported to the Sussex County Emergency Operations Center that an explosion ignited a fire within the engine compartment of an inboard/outboard vessel called the Let’s Roll. Incident Commander – Chief Steven C. Deery advised the responding emergency apparatus to ventilate the engine compartment as well as all other areas of the vessel, to utilize the thermal imaging camera to identify potential hot spots on the vessel, and evaluate the extinguishment tactics utilized by the vessel owner prior to arrival of emergency response personnel. It appears that the vessel ignited an engine compartment, captains deck and exterior protective shielding thereby causing damage to the vessel which was extinguished with an onboard fire extinguisher and dockside water hoses available for docking privileges
