Story
Wednesday July, 22 2009 @ 13:01:01 Nature: Smoke Investigation Address: 28351-28490 Layton Davis Rd Millsboro, DE 19966 On Wednesday afternoon, July 22nd, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a smoke investigation in the area of 28351-28490 Layton Davis Road (between John J. Williams Highway and River Road). Upon arrival of Engine #80-1, the riding officer, Chief Steven C. Deery, Jr., identified that a property owner was inappropriately burning rubbish and other debris. Chief Deery limited the response to the one piece of apparatus and apprised the property owner of the burning ban stipulations and requested extinguishment via the residential garden hose. Indian River wishes to remind everyone of the burning ban criteria. The incident response resulted in an expense of fire company resources which amounted to approximately $232.41 for estimated labor and equipment charges.
