Saturday July, 18 2009 @ 11:06:46 Nature: Traffic/Transportation Acdnt BLS Address: Indian Mission Rd & Hollyville Harbeson, DE 19951 On Saturday morning July 18th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a personal injury vehicle collision at the intersection of Indian Mission Road and Hollyville Road. It appears a vehicle traveling north on Indian Mission Road and a vehicle traveling west on Hollyville Road collided at the intersection. It was reported by Chief Steven C. Deery, who was operating as Incident Command, that the two vehicles collided and the dark green Dodge Stratus would require vehicle extrication measures. Initial responding emergency response personnel were assigned to initiate patient assessment, patient stabilization, patient care, vehicle stabilization in preparation for various door pop extrication measures. Rescue 80 was the initial arriving apparatus equipped with Hurst Tools (vehicle extrication equipment) and ordered to complete stabilization of the vehicle and extricate. Additional manpower resources were provided by next due Engine #80-5 and Utility 80-0. The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control measures which resulted in the closure of Hollyville Road for the duration of the incident. The Delaware State Police are investigating.
