Monday March, 16 2009 @ 19:42:40 Nature: Traffic/Transportation Acdnt BLS Location: The Peninsula @ the entrance Address: 32902 Peninsula Esplanade Millsboro, DE 19966 On Monday, March 16, 2009 at approximately 7:42 p.m., the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a motor vehicle collision reported with injuries. Upon arrival of our Duty Officer, Assistant Chief Eric Ruckle, it was identified that Ford F-150 pickup truck was traveling south on Bay Farm Road near the entrance to the Peninsula development. The pick-up truck apparently had left the roadway for an unknown reason and struck the decorative fountain the entrance to the Peninsula. Emergency response personnel checked the vehicle for fluid leakage and disconnected the battery thereby securing the vehicle. The occupant of the vehicle did not require medical attention. The incident is under investigation by the Delaware State Police. The estimated personnel costs (25 members @ Delaware Minimum Wage Rate plus social security costs) and equipment response costs (flat billing rate as determined by FEMA) for this vehicle accident incident are estimated to be $355.45 for the incident. The incident response was twenty-five (25) members for 36 minutes in-service.
