Indian River Hosts 55th Anniversary, Fire Prevention Program and Apparatus Housing – Saturday, October 25th, 2008 On Saturday, October 25th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company celebrated its 55th Anniversary serving the communities of Oak Orchard, Riverdale, Long Neck and surrounding areas. The activities kicked off with a Fire Prevention Program from 10 a. – 2 p. at our Station #1 in Oak Orchard. A Firemen’s Parade commenced immediately thereafter with an Apparatus Housing Ceremony following at 4 p.m. The activities were well attended and enjoyed by everyone in attendance. Illustrated herewith is a pictorial view of our activities. The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company would like to acknowledge the community members, partners, volunteer fire company personnel for making this celebration event possible. Also, we extend our utmost appreciation to Mill Creek Fire Company and Lima Fire Company for providing stand-by coverage during these events. We also would like to acknowledge our community residents for their support over the years.
