On Tuesday, October 28th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company hosted the 10th Annual Sussex County Volunteer Firemen’s Association Joint Installation Ceremonies for the Sussex County Ambulance Association, Sussex County Fire Police Association, Sussex County Fire Chief’s Association, and the Sussex County Volunteer Firemen’s Association. This event was attended by a majority of the Sussex County volunteer fire and EMS companies.
The ceremonial activities included:
• Presentation of Colors by the Sussex County Fire Police Color Guard Unit;
• Invocation by the County Chaplain;
• Installation of Officers:
• Sussex County Volunteer Ambulance Association officiated by Mike McMichael, President – Delaware State Ambulance Assoc.;
• Sussex County Fire Police Association officiated by John Bare, Past President; and
• Sussex County Volunteer Firemen’s Association officiated by Lynn J. Rogers, Past President – Delaware Volunteer Firemen’s Association and Sussex County Councilman.
Indian River is extremely proud to announce that the following newly installed officers hale from our organization:
• 2008-2009 - Sussex County Volunteer Firemen’s Association – President – Roland F. Walker, Jr.;
• 2008-2009 – Sussex County Fire Police Association – Second Vice President – David G. Blumenthal;
• 2008-2009 – Sussex County Fire Police Association – Treasurer – Raymond E. Collas; and
• 2007-2008 - Sussex County Volunteer Firemen’s Association – President – William Tobin, Jr. maintains a Honorary Membership affiliation.
