Nature: Vehicle Accident

On Thursday, February 22^nd, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway at the intersection of Bay Farm Road.  It was reported to be a minor vehicle incident involving two vehicles with the possibility of one person desiring medical evaluation.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Ladder 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

It appears that dark colored Kia SUV and silver Ford Escape collided at the intersection for unknown reasons. The Kia sustained significant front end damage and the Ford suffered minor rear end damage.  The Kia continued on into nearby shrubbery at the location.

The Delaware State Fire Police provided traffic control assistance for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
