On Friday evening, March 7, 2008 at approximately 11:30 p.m., the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a motor vehicle incident on Hollymount Road (State Route #48) near Phillip's Branch Road (County Road #302). Jason Faulkner was the designated Duty Officer and determined that a single vehicle, a black Volkswagen Beetle, was traveling on Hollymount Road and departed from the roadway and losing control for a unknown reason. The vehicle slid sideways striking a tree on the passenger's side of the vehicle. The vehicle sustained significant damage because the impact of the incident protruded into the passenger's side of the vehicle. The occupant of the vehicle refused medical attention. The Delaware State Police are investigating the incident
