Nature: Structure Fire

Location: 29096 Cordrey Rd., Millsboro, DE 19966

 

On Friday evening, December 29th, the Indian River (80), Georgetown (77), Millsboro (83) and Rehoboth Beach (86) were alerted for a structure fire on Cordrey Road. Other ancillary alerted included Sussex County Paramedics and local emergency medical services entity.

Emergency response units from Indian River Tanker 80 and Utility 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engines #80-1, 80-3, and Brush 80-0 from the Long Neck facilities. Additional units from Millsboro, Georgetown and Rehoboth Beach were available onscene as well. Emergency response crew assignments included immediate fire suppression, ventilation, salvage and recovery efforts, incident mitigation activities including but not limited to apparatus staging, water supply, and scene preservation. First arriving units found heavy smoke and fire showing from the rear. Eaves on all four sides were of concern.

The Delaware State Fire Marshall is investigating.

The American Red Cross were notified in order to provide assistance to the two occupants of the structure.
