Nature: Structure Fire
Location: 27130 Windjammer Rd., White House Beach, Millsboro, DE 19966
On Thursday, December 28th, the Indian River (80), Millsboro (83), and Lewes (82) fire companies were for a residential structure fire on Windjammer Road in the White House Beach development off of Long Neck Road.
Emergency response units from Indian River included Engines #80-1 and 80-3 from the Long Neck facility and Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facilities as well as the Delaware State Fire Police. Other ancillary alerts included the Sussex County Paramedics, the Delaware State Fire Marshall, and the local emergency medical service provider.
Emergency response crew assignments include fire suppression activities, primary and secondary residential searches, roof ventilation, overhaul as well as salvage and recovery.
Initial arriving units from a residential manufactured mobile home with fire showing on the “A” and “B” corners. One of the photographs illustrates the smoke billowing from the residence in White House Beach from the main road as the apparatus arrives.
It is believed that the fire originated as a result of improperly discard ashes from the residence’s wood burning stove or fireplace.
The Delaware State Fire Marshall’s is investigated.
There were not reported injuries from civilians or fire response personnel.
