Monday December, 25 2017 @ 19:10Nature: House FireLocation: 391 Bay Av Milford, DE 19963On December 25th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted to provided a standby assignment for Milton (85) Fire Company who was assisting Memorial (89) Fire Company with multiple residential structure fires on Bay Avenue in Slaughter Beach. Numerous volunteer fire companies throughout Kent and Sussex County provided fire suppression, manpower, and water shuttle assistance during this event.Emergency response units from Indian River included Engine #80-3 from the Long Neck facility.Emergency response crew assignments were upgraded from the original standby assignment to the a full fire scene assistance with fire suppression and water shuttle operations.It appears that Memorial (89) Volunteer Fire Company was originally alerted for a residential structure fire on Bay Avenue and quickly upgraded to a second alarm incident requesting multiple fire company tanker and engine assists throughout nearby Kent and Sussex County fire companies.
