October is Fire Prevention Month! During the week of October 22nd, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company provided various fire prevention initiatives and instructional tactics to the students of the Long Neck Elementary School. These activities included various instructional initiatives to enhance awareness of fire prevention and safety prevention. These activities included but not limited to; essay and letter writing, drawing of fire prevention themes; equipment and apparatus awareness and recreational activities for various grade levels – fire truck rides, mini-muster activities, tour of the Delaware State Fire School – Southern Division, fire hose exercises and relay races. The activities at Long Neck Elementary we coordinated under the tutelage of Rev. J. Allen Miller. The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company would like to acknowledge the support of the Long Neck Elementary School staff for this continued cooperation and assistance.
