Nature: Structure Fire

Location: 35222 Bay Breeze Lane Millsboro, DE 19966

Early Saturday morning, December 16th, the Indian River (80), Lewes (82) and Millsboro (83) fire companies were alerted for a residential structure on Bay Breeze Lane in the Rehoboth Shores development off of Long Neck Road.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility, Engines #80-1 and #80-3 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police, the Sussex County Paramedics, the Delaware State Police and the local EMS provider.

Emergency response crews were able to identify and isolate the incident to a small electrical fire within a ceiling light near the rear of the structure.  After continued evaluation, the homeowner was advised that the electrical service has been shut-off and appropriate electrical repairs would be needed.

Responding units were downgraded and limited to the Indian River and Lewes fire departments because these units were on-scene at the time of the notification.  All other responding units were cancelled.
