On Tuesday afternoon, October 23, 2007, at approximately 3:22 p.m., the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a motor vehicle collision on Mount Joy Road near Cordrey Road. Chief Steven C. Deery, Jr. arrived on scene to find a two-vehicle collision partially blocking the roadway. Responding firefighters assisted with patient care and securing the vehicles. One patient was transported to a local medical facility. The Delaware State Police are investigating this incident.
