On Friday evening, October 19, 2007, at 10:49 p.m., the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a motor vehicle collision on Long Neck Road south of the Mariners Cove development. Upon arrival of Chief Steven Deery, it was determined that a single vehicle collided into a tree while traveling north on Long Neck Road. One patient was out of the vehicle prior to emergency apparatus arriving. The occupant was transported to a local medical facility for minor injuries. Firefighters were required to secure the vehicle and to check for fluid leakage. The Delaware State Police are investigating this incident.
