IRVFC Responds to Reported Vehicle Overboard - Pot Nets Bayside

Story
On Sunday evening, July 22, 2007, at 9:55 p.m., the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a motor vehicle incident in Pot Nets Bayside. While enroute to the incident, the Sussex County Emergency Operations Center advised Chief Steven Deery that one vehicle was reported to have traveled into a pond. Upon arrival Chief Deery confirmed the report, and also indicated that the occupant had freed himself from submerged vehicle. The Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) was notified of the mishap. On Monday, July 23, 2007, the Millsboro Volunteer Fire Company Dive Team assisted a local towing company with extrication of the vehicle from the pond in Pot Nets Bayside. This incident is under investigation by the Delaware State Police.
