Nature: Vehicle Accident

On Wednesday evening, November 22^nd, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on John J. Williams Hwy. at the entrance to the Trading Post Shopping Center.  It was reported to be a two-vehicle collision.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Ladder 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility and the Delaware State Fire Police.  The Lewes Fire Department Emergency Medical Services were alerted to the incident as well.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, traffic control., fluid and debris recovery and assistance with patient stabilization.

It appears that both vehicles were traveling on John J. Williams Highway when a white Ford Expedition was stopped at the entrance to the Trading Post Shopping Center (Shore Shop) when struck in the rear by a silver Honda Pilot SUV causing significant damage to both vehicles.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
