Story
Early Monday morning at approximately 2:49 a.m. on March 26, 2007 shortly after being dispatched for an automatic fire alarm at Cedar Tree Medical Center on Long Neck Road. The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted to assist Lewes Fire Department with a working structure fire located at the Irish Eyes Pub on Anglers Road in Lewes. Immediately upon being dispatched by the Sussex County Emergency Operations Center, the Lewes police and fire departments reported heavy fire visible and requested assistance from neighboring fire companies. The following entities were alerted to provide assistance with this emergency incident: Rehoboth Beach Fire Company, Station #86; Milton Fire Company, Station #85; Indian River Volunteer Fire Company, Station #80; Georgetown Fire Department, Station #77; Millsboro Volunteer Fire Company, Station #83; Memorial (Slaughter Beach) Volunteer Fire Company, Station #89; Ellendale Volunteer Fire Company, Station #75; Carlisle (Milford) Fire Company, Station #42; Millville Fire Company, Station #84; Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office; and Sussex County Paramedics. Many other fire companies were alerted to provide stand-by coverage for many of the companies that responded directly to the scene.
