On Friday, September 1, 2006, Tropical Depression Ernesto made its way through Delmarva with sustained winds of 45 m.p.h. and gusts recorded at 60 mph. Indian River firefighters responded to nine calls for service which consisted of trees and wires down. Furthermore, firefighters stood by at the station throughout the night.
