Story
On Tuesday, August 15, 2006, at 2:49 a.m., the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a structure fire in Mariners Cove. First Assistant Chief Ryan Mock arrived on scene and advised heavy fire from the rear of the structure. Engine 80-2, under the direction of Deputy Chief Brian Hubbs, placed an hose line in service and began attacking the fire. Engine 80-5 and 80-1 assisted with the initial attack and primary search of the residence. Additional engines and tankers from the Lewes and Millsboro fire companies assisted. No one was home at the time of the blaze and there were no firefighter or civilian injuries. This incident in under investigation by the Delaware State Fire Marshals Office.
