On Thursday, June 29, 2006, at 4:51 p.m., the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a structure fire on Gooseneck Road (Pot Nets Bayside). Engine 80-2 arrived on scene and reported smoke showing. Crews made access into the structure and were able to extinguish the fire. The fire was contained to a rear bedroom. The Lewes and Millsboro Fire Companies provided assistance. First Assistant Chief Ryan Mock placed the incident under control at 5:23 p.m. The Delaware State Fire Marshals Office is investigating the cause.
