Story
On Monday, June 19, 2006, at 10:16 p.m., the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an automatic fire alarm at the corporate office of Leisure Point Community. Second Assistant Chief Jason Faulkner arrived on location to find a smoke condition inside the structure. Assistant Chief Faulkner immediately upgraded the response, which included assistance from the Lewes and Millsboro Fire Companies. On entry into the structure, interior crews located a fire in a kitchen area. After a quick extinguishment, extensive overhaul was required to protect parts of the structure that were not damage. Firefighters were able to contain the damage to the kitchen area and the hallway. The incident was placed under control at 11:08 p.m. This incident is under investigation by the Delaware State Fire Marshals Office.
