Nature: Commercial Structure Fire

On Wednesday evening, October 4th, the Indian River (80), Lewes (82), Millsboro (83), Rehoboth Beach (86), Memorial (89), Ellendale (75), Georgetown (77) fire companies were alerted to assist Milton (85) with a working commercial structure fire on Harbeson Road at the Allen Harim Food Processing facility.  It was reported to be in the 4th floor area where boxes are stored.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Ladder 80 and Engine #80-3 during the initial box alarm for a ladder truck assignment.  The second box alarm generated Tanker 80 and Engine #80-1 from the Indian River facilities.

Emergency response crew assignments included fire suppression activities, establishment of a water supply, negative pressure ventilation, manpower pool, ladder access to the roof area, rehab center, as well as salvage and recovery, clean-up tasks. 

Additional resources were needed from the Sussex County Emergency Medical Services, the DNREC Hazardous Materials Unit, and the Delaware State Fire Police.
