On Tuesday, April 25, 2006, at 10:52 a.m., the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted to assist the Millsboro Fire Company on a working house fire in the Mount Joy area. Engine 80-1, 80-2, Rescue 80, and Tanker 80 responded. Crews from Indian River were utilized to assist with roof and overhaul operations. The Lewes Fire Department provided stand by coverage until Indian River firefighters returned. Twenty-One firefighters were in service for one hour and fifty six minutes.
