On Monday, March 14, 2005, at 10:29 p.m., the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a Woods Fire. Upon arrival Chief Steven Deery advised of a 30x30 area of woods involved. Brush trucks were utilized to suppress the fire. This incident is currently under investigation by the Delaware State Fire Marshals Office. 25 firefighters were in service for 27 minutes.
