Story
On Saturday, March 11, 2006, at 1:11 a.m., the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a brush fire on Longneck Road in the area of the Sandbar. Upon arrival of First Assistant Chief Ryan Mock, it was determined that approximately a 10x10 area was involved with exposures to a telephone pole. Crews quickly extinguished the fire. Witnesses on scene indicated that they observed a person intentionally setting this fire. The Delaware State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating. 23 firefighters were in service for 43 minutes.
