IRVFC Responds to Fast Moving Brush Fire - Green Road East of Banks Road

Story
On Friday, March 10, 2006, at 1:34 a.m., the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a brush fire on Green Road just east of Banks Road. Upon the arrival of Chief Steven Deery, it was determined that approximately two acres were on fire. Furthermore, the fire was spreading quickly due to high winds. The Millsboro Volunteer Fire Company was requested for one engine and one brush truck to assist with extinguishment. Twenty-one firefighters were in service for 1 hour 23 minutes. under the command of Chief Steven C. Deery.
