Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: 26434-26445 John J Williams Hwy., Millsboro, DE 19966

On Saturday morning, August 5^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway near the American Legion and Morning Side Drive.  It was reported to be a two-vehicle rear end type collision.

Emergency response units Indian River included Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility, Ladder 80 from the Oak Orchard facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, incident mitigation, traffic control, assistance with patient assessment as well as debris and fluid recovery.

It appears that both vehicles were traveling westbound on John J. Williams Highway when a maroon Mazda SUV struck the rear of a Ford Escape causing damage to both vehicles.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
